I just want to say it, “Deployments stink.” Whether they’re one month or fifteen months, they’re just awful. Ask my husband the Army fanatic – he loves wearing muted brown uniforms and shining boots and the smelling like fuel and weapons – even he will admit that living in a tent and looking at sand for any period of time is lousy. But he’d do it again tomorrow if you needed him to. I am not that dedicated. The “inner me” fights against the unknowns of war, the weariness of single-mothering, the feeling I’ve given away another year of my life. You can see where moping can take me. My inner side (yep, the flesh) is not real pretty—which is why God doesn’t want me dwelling there!

Preparing Your Heart for Christmas
Excellent or Praiseworthy is posted on Monday and Thursday nights.
Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.’” — Revelation 11:15
Perhaps it’s difficult to get in the “mood” for Christmas this year. Perhaps deployment has distracted you from the “feeling” that usually comes with preparing for Christmas.
That’s understandable. And perhaps we can help. Because there’s nothing better to help you focus on the real meaning of Christmas than worshipful singing and solid biblical preaching.
Here is a favorite rendition of “O Holy Night”. . . enjoy!
And nothing tops Dr. S.M. Lockridge’s preaching on “That’s My King”. After all, not only did Jesus come to earth on that Holy Night as Savior. . . .but He came to reign in our hearts as King!
Do you know Him? Don’t let this Christmas go by without understanding it’s real meaning—God coming to earth as Savior and as King! Then, and only then will any circumstances of this year fade in comparison to the greatness of this gift of Jesus, Emanuel, Christ, King.

Questions to Share:
1. What Christmases do you remember as a child? Why were they special to you?
2. Ask your spouse how you can pray for them this Christmas during deployment.
